Scott Drake is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning at the University of Melbourne. He lectures in the areas of architecture, environmental design, and workplace planning and design. His book. The Third Skin: Architecture, Technology, and Environment was published by UNSW Press in 2007, and later republished as The Elements of Architecture by Earthscan in the UK.

His research addresses aspects of human form and behaviour in the built environment. He holds degrees in Science and Architecture from the University of Adelaide and a PhD from the University of Canberra.
